Born and raised on the Eastside of Indianapolis, Sheldon Day’s football career blossomed during his time at Warren Central High School. While a student athlete at Warren Central, Sheldon was a part of the 2009 State Championship team, was runner up for Mr. Football, was the Defensive Lineman Mr. Football winner and was the Defensive Liman MVP during the 2011 Nike Opening.
After graduating from Warren Central High School, Sheldon Day was an early enrollee at The University of Notre Dame. While at Notre Dame, Day was a four-year varsity letter winner, playing Defensive Tackle. He was a member of the 2013 National Championship Runner-up team. Sheldon graduated in 2016 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology.
After graduating, Day was a 4th round draft pick landing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Day played a season and a half with the Jaguars. During the 2017 season Sheldon was picked up as a free agent by the San Francisco 49ers, where he enjoyed playing the 2nd half of the season and started in the LIV Super Bowl.
At the end of the 2019-20 season, Sheldon became a free agent and signed with the Indianapolis Colts.
Sheldon enjoys giving back to the community both in his hometown and in the cities in which he plays. He is excited that after 4 years in the NFL he will be bringing his talents to his home town.
Sheldon's mission is to inspire youth to see the light through education as a way to better their situation.
